Water is one of the world's most precious resources, and its preservation is a critical aspect to everything that Hansgrohe designs and manufactures. Hansgrohe's commitment to water ecology and preservation was seen locally through our Corporate Social Investment programme initiative in December 2005. The sponsorship consisted of a financial contribution to Western Province Lifesaving, equipping the Camps Bay lifesaving operation with a range of resources which will lead to the development of a lifesaving club at Camps Bay. From December 2005 to March 2006, trained lifeguards, primarily from the Monwabisi Lifesaving Club, were stationed at Camps Bay. This Club recruits members from Gugulethu, ensuring that more youngsters from previously disadvantaged areas have the opportunity to be trained as lifesavers. Hansgrohe South Africa's sponsorship also ensured that 60,000 educational leaflets were distributed along the Cape Coastline, informing beachgoers of basic beach and sea safety issues. At the heart of Hangrohe South Africa's Corporate Social Investment Strategy is our belief in the importance of involvement in the greater community. Our Lifesaving Sponsorship programme ensures that beachgoers enjoy a safer environment, that the Council has additional funds for other pressing environmental matters and that WP Lifesaving is able to extend its services. Most importantly, it has helped to ensure the improvement of the overall standards of the Cape's beautiful beaches, one of South Africa's most valuable natural resources. WP Lifesaving Brochure
